Joint Scholarship Application for Turfgrass & Horticultural Science and Design (This application covers two scholarship opportunities for Turfgrass Science students and one scholarship opportunity for a Horticultural Science and Design student)
The Missouri Green Industry Alliance Education Foundation, in conjunction with the Lobenstein Scholarship Fund, awards two scholarships of $1,000 each to a student studying Turfgrass Science and a student studying Horticultural Science & Design at the University of Missouri – Columbia campus.
The Award is originated in Honor of C.W. (Bill) Lobenstein. Dr. Lobenstein received his under graduate education from Kansas State University, Masters from Southern Illinois University and Doctorate from Purdue University. He joined the University of Missouri Horticulture Department Faculty in 1966. Dr. Lobenstein was responsible for starting the Extension Program in Turfgrass Management and served as a teacher and advisor in the College of Agriculture during his tenure at MU.
This Scholarship is available to Junior or Senior level students at the University of Missouri- Columbia and is awarded at the annual Missouri Green Industry Conference, Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
MoGIA Education Foundation
This is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation which awards a $1000 scholarship each year to a horticulture student enrolled in a Missouri 2-year college or 4-year university program and a $500 award to a Future Farmers of America student for studies in landscape and nursery management. Funds for this annual scholarship are raised from member donations to the Education Foundation and an annual silent auction held at a green industry educational event. Awarded at The Western trade show held in January.
